Hernán, discovering Tenerife in TAXI (1). In August 2019, Hernán arrived with his parents, Gloria and Juan, with the idea of knowing the Island of Tenerife in TAXI. Hernán, an 8-year-old boy from Badajoz, very funny and intelligent, hence the amount of questions he asked us to know everything. I think that we, the taxi drivers, have enjoyed doing these excursions more than Hernán, Gloria and Juan.

Stayed at the Hotel Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and from there every morning we started the Tourist Routes in TAXI through Tenerife.

You can also book your TAXI and enjoy one of the different Tourist Routes around Tenerife that we offer. Get to know the Route, Time and Price with our Online Booking System.

The Lookout point of Las Teresitas Beach

The lookout point of Las Teresitas Beach gives us a unique and spectacular image of this area. On the one hand, Las Teresitas Beach, quiet, with white sand and turquoise waters. On the other, Las Gaviotas Beach, with volcanic black sand and the wild essence of an Atlantic beach.

It is one of the most popular lookout point of the island, to reach it you have to climb the road that leads to Igueste de San Andrés.

Formerly it was a coal warehouse, today reigns the abandonment of that private land turned into one of the most popular and spectacular lookout points of Tenerife; Without a doubt, you have to stop there.

Playa de las Teresitas -
León de Piedra - Taganana
The Lion of Taganana

From the same road you can see, once past the tunnel where the descent to Taganana begins, after a curve that gives way to a straight line of 100 m, we can observe on the left of the road this curious formation, really called Roque de Amogoje .

A roque that, from a certain angle, bears a strong resemblance to a lion, a mandatory stop on our Taxi Tour on the way to Taganana.

Roque de las Bodegas Beach

Although the nucleus emerges as such at the beginning of the twentieth century, the area on which it sits had great importance from the first moments of the colonization of Taganana in the sixteenth century due to owning a jetty and numerous wine cellars for the conservation of wine, which facilitated the subsequent trade of this product with Europe and America.

Later it became a coastal enclave where the inhabitants of this part of the massif took boats that took them to the rest of the island. At the beginning of the 20th century, families lived on the beach and at the beginning of the 1970s the first businesses, bars and restaurants were installed.

Benijo Lookout point

You will enjoy a unique landscape on the Island with privileged views of the Roques de Anaga. Spectacular sunsets, the red of the horizon and the black silhouettes of volcanic rocks rocking out of the sea.

Benijo Beach is the most isolated in the town of Taganana (El Roque de las Bodegas and Almáciga), and you can walk through a path with stairs. You can reach the surroundings by car, where you will find several restaurants where you can taste typical dishes of the Island.

Mirador de Benijo
Mirador Bailadero - Taganana
Bailadero Lookout point

Bailadero Lookout point is located at kilometer 11 of the road that leads to Chamorga, TF-12, which enters the Anaga Rural Park. You can enjoy an excellent view of the Anaga massif and the town of Taganana at your feet. In the surroundings of this lookout point is the hostel “Montes de Anaga”, with a capacity of 40 seats, since this area is very visited by lovers of mountain tourism and hiking.

Interestingly, the name of “El Bailadero” comes from a legend about the witches of Anaga: It is said that on this site there were witches who danced around bonfires on coven days seeking curses and practicing the art of witchcraft.

Camino viejo Pico del Inglés

On the road that leads to the Pico del Inglés Lookout point we find on our left this old narrow road that goes unnoticed, with high walls full of moss and covered by the branches of the trees forming a tunnel.

This road was the old road to Bailadero and it was replaced by the current route due to a collapse in its final part.

Cruz del Carmen Lookout point

Following our Tourist Route we enter the laurel forest of the Anaga Rural Park and we find this lookout point that gives you a wonderful view of the Vega Lagunera and in particular the city of La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the distance, at the top, you can enjoy the capital silhouette of El Teide. Highly recommended both for the views and for the unforgettable beauty of the surroundings. Next to the lookout point there is a restaurant, visitor center and market.

Mirador Cruz del Carmen
Mirador Jardina
Jardina Lookout point

Located right at the beginning of the Anaga Rural Park, where Monteverde begins, it offers you attractive views of the city of La Laguna. On clear days you will appreciate the majestic view of the Teide volcano. And in the middle you will see how crop fields, small towns and rich and varied vegetation extend. Accessible and nearby lookout point that will be worth visiting.

Plaza del Adelantado

The Plaza del Adelantado is a central square in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, is located in the center of the old town, around it are the Town Hall, the courts of the municipality and the Hermitage of San Miguel Arcángel.

It receives the name of the first Adelantado, Alonso Fernández de Lugo, conqueror of the islands of La Palma and Tenerife, who, at the beginning of the 16th century, had his residence at one end of this square, specifically in a part of the lot that today occupies the Convent of Santa Catalina de Siena.
